Well, there's nothing inherently annoying with them - I admit my dad can't stand them for too long though.

What's pleasant? Easy. There's a lot of power here that other music doesn't reach. Of course, it doesn't sound the same to everyone. But, it's just how you look at it.

There is a lot of flow, emotion and complexity that can be packed into them. It doesn't have to be just empty intensity. Myself, I like a well-used screech or an over-saturated guitar riff as much as the next guy. But my tastes lean to complexity and musical depth combined with a lot of sonic intensity, and I gotta admit - it's hard to provide the same kinds of stuff via other channels on the same level.

One person's noise is another person's favorite brand of music. (and I should know! Some music I listen to has been, quite literally, described as 'random noise')

let me highlight a couple of points for you.

1. I know farlo. he's a damn smart guy, fucking good AMV creator too.
looking at your profile. Low average scores on your videos, all LOCAL! no donation..
vs
Farlo; high average scores (were lowered by a side project long ago)
some local, some external videos, and ooo look here! he's donated!

2. learn to spell properly, it hurts my eyes. and the use of "stfu" etc.. is lame, to me, it shows low inteligence and lack of talent in creating a decent insult...

3. as farlo said. the guy is DEAD! it's been proven.. accept it, more on..

4. "you rich whyte boi" what the fuck? sorry man.. but that.. is totally lame. so you know... farlos ain't rich.. hell I have more money than him.. and I earn jack shit with my job..

5. quantity does not compare to quality. the more music a person/group pumps out in quick succession the more likely it is it will suck...

6. now.. before you "decide" to "inform" me (translation: attempt to insult) I have listened to a fair share of rap. I have to listen to it every day at work.

What I think you don't realize is that every 'song' I listed when I talked about the 'pleasantly head-crushing noises' has not a line of vocals among them. There is no literal screaming going on. All these are are highly professional musicians working their instruments and creative talents to the limit. It's not just show, it's not just flash - it's real, 'unrestricted' music - and that's what attracts me to that noise.

Noise for the sake of noise is just noise. Words for the sake of words are just words.

Just as words have an intense effect on you, a strong guitar line has an intense effect on me. Simple as that. Myself, I've had a large number of experiences where strong guitar work had a much more profound and personal effect on me than lyrics ever did. This is something I have validated through my own experience. It doesn't mean another person can't have a totally different perception of music validated through their own experience - but it's futile to expect that this experience is valid for everyone, that's all.
