1. I haven't watched japser's video yet, but i have nothing against adding it if it isn't too far from completion.
2. number of videos:
2 from otohiko
1 from me
1 from rose4emily
1 from pen pen
2, probably, from songbird
2, probably, from jasper isis
1 from aznraver
1 from ooshna
1 from anubisx00
1 from Maverick
1 from bakadeshi
= 13
and tell me if i'm missing any
3. Those DVD covers look awesome. My only suggestion is to use a different format on the back, like Anime - Artist - Title (Creator) or maybe Creator - Title and then a second indented line with Anime, Artist, and Song. That and can you capitalize "hosted" and "moonlight" ?
4. rose4emily. the quasi-realistic setting seems the most appealing but if it doesn't work, the flat-shaded anime-looking room would have my vote. or if any of us (not me) has EK doodling skills we could use a series of sketches (doesn't have to be her caliber, just able to draw consistent doodles). The live photograph seems like it would look out of place in the project.

I gave a pm to jasper-isis about my bumper and am working on my monologue. I love the DVD covers and agree with downwithpants on his suggested changes.
<u>Bakadeshi:</u> My name on the DVD cover is put as "AnubisX". It should read "Anubisx00". Or is it that you thought I should shave off the zeros from my username? I think I want to keep the zeros if thats the case, since it is my username I've been using for over 4 years across the net. Although I plan on changing it soon.
Finally, does anyone have the IP address of the FTP that is up and running right now? I've been going through the thread to find the FTP but with no luck connecting today. I would like to upload a new beta for all of you to see and critique. I would appreciate if someone told me ^_^!

The DVD cover is brilliant. It is stunningly beautiful and the shadowy score is a great touch.
Sorry I haven’t been keeping up. The reason I have not put up my info is I haven't decided on the final title for my piece. "Requiem for a Nightmare" is good but rather long, "Decent into Madness" is another one I've considered. Suggestions are welcome. I'll decide by tonight.
Jasper Isis: Your piece should defiantly be included. A couple of nitpicks: the freeze frame at 0:21 seems out of place. The timing of the opening door at the end is right on timing wise, but I don't like the echo/fade effect. Try playing around with that one.
Songbird: I'll get your latest and have a look but what I've seen so far is great.

I think it might sound better without those three words.Otohiko wrote:The piece consists of three primary parts. The first begins with a soft soundscape, only to be punctuated abruptly by an electronic voice reading fragmented lines from T.S. Eliot's poem 'The Wasteland'.

ah, true. I do have a tendency to be wordy
I think the current title (Requiem for a Nightmare) is fine. Somewhat obvious, but I find it catchier than anything else I could come up with.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

A couple things I forgot:
As far as my own part in this project goes I will have the info and the introduction posted by tonight. I will also finish cleaning things up that I have been meaning to, and render a release candidate. I will upload it to any FTP I can connect to. I know I can get Kaliums but I have a bad transfer rate. (bad being about 3 times dialup
)
I am rewriting the AVIsynth script so my video should be a normal 16:9. I will also take out the title screen but not the flashing letters so it will fit with the rest of the project. What should I export in for submission?
This will be a big weekend for me. I'm going to show my girlfriend the video which I have been holding off on till I finished it.
Also, my family is going away for a day so I will definitely start my next AMV.

Bakadeshi: The covers look fantastic (whoa, no pun intended there
). Just FYI: the fancy font that I used was called CAC Lasko Condensed, and the more regular font that I used was Ergoe Medium Regular. You can install the fonts and use them if you want, but the ones that you're using now are also perfectly fine.
Rose4Emily: I like the quasi-realistic setting idea for the commentaries. The flat-shaded anime room is all right also, but then I think it should be a little abstract-looking... or have something that looks like the guy is in a dark room. For some reason I keep thinking of the silhouettes from Utena, but those may be a little too abstract...
Aunbisx00: Got your pm; uploaded the bumper. The folder for storing bumpers is here in case anybody wants to look at them but doesn't want to look for the link a few pages back.
pen-pen: The frame freeze at 0:21 is kinda weird I suppose, since everything up to that point has constantly been in motion. The reason I freezed it was because the scene didn't extend until the end of the fade, and slowing it down made it jerky. I'll play around and see what I can do. And I'm definitely changing the door. It looked cool when I imagined it in my head, but in execution it just looks... too busy.
I personally like "Descent into Madness" because, IMO, the word "Requiem" is a little overused in amv titles (supersearch turned up 50 matches). But I haven't been able to download your video yet, so I should probably wait and see it before making a judgement.

It's actually 14 videos. I was wondering why the number of bumpers I've made didn't add up.
