the problem the studio wanted a pg-13 rating (draws in a larger audience that way I guess). And when a studio gives you lots of money to make a movie..you kinda gotta do what they tell you..even if it means cutting down the violence and such :\

Ah, so that's what happened. I was wondering why they did that . . . stupid studios . . .

has anyone found any screen shots to post up here? i wanna see what the art is like... though i guess i could just go to the store and look at the box... but what else is the internet for? 8)

i didn't notice the excess footage in the trailer... but then again, i only saw the trailer once

as for the 3rd movie, it's almost like... what the hell can they even do that's not predictable?
for those that have seen the movie...
spoilers wrote:when Riddick kills the old dude and becomes leader, the other guy bows down, but obviously there is no loyalty, so obviously he will join together with that evil women and try to overthrow Riddick at some point... and they may even throw in a Furian vs Furian fight somewhere in there... i just wanna see where they become super furians, lol
though i'll see it anyway cause i'm a movie-fiend

I think the problem with Riddick, was that it was trying to be some great epic movie. I think it was a little over hyped and stuff and I expected a lot more from it. The dialogue just flat out sucked, in my opinion. The plot was scetchy at best. A lot of stuff just didn't make sense. The characters were a little less notable than what I anticipated. And overall, it was just unworthy. The special effects were awesome and the action was all right and those are about the only good points of that movie. It would have been more bearable if it wasn't trying to be so great, but it still wouldn't have been a very good movie. They should redo it and make it better, even in an anime form.
I hope the anime is cool or else I'll lose all hope in Riddick.

Where's the fun if all heros are righteous and noble? I like it when bad guys become heros. :D

Spawn and Hellboy are bad examples anyways...they weren't really bad to begin with.

True. They really weren't bad to begin with. Come to think of it, neither was Riddick. But I wouldn't exactly call him a good guy either.
