actually the movie (thought I liked it for some reason) has been getting quite a bunch of bad reviews...but that's not all unusual and unexpected. Most of the critics didn't even like Pitch Black when it came out..so :\

I just saw it and I didn't think it was too bad. :? It's not my favorite movie but at the same time I can't really find anything wrong with it. Critics are weird.

i liked chronicles of riddick, not too complex, but good enough story to keep u watchin' and of course great action

but the end of the film seemed to kinda just be there and wasn't very climactic imo

[need to go back and watch Pitch Black again.. also get anime dvd interlude]

Yeah I felt the same way. It just ended.

I wonder if the writers got lazy or something.

i didnt really like chronicles of riddick. i mean it was meh ok i guess. i was kinda dissapointed it seemd to just be alot of fighting and no real story. also i found it way to scifi for my taste. some stuff that has alot of scifi is ok becouse of good acting or a great story or maybe even good fightscnes but i though riddick was missing all of these. the fight scence were all blured to add to the dramtaics or something but i just found it annoying. and i also though the ending was lame. maybe the anime will be better. ill most likely watch it somewhere else befor going out and spending $15 on it.
my 2 cents

my only real beef with the Riddick film is the load of footage that WASN'T in the movie!! I mean damn, half the scenes in the trailers (being a trailer junky that I am) were missing. I know companies are notorious for throwing in cut or altered footage into trailers, but damn. I'm hoping for a Unrated Director's Cut DVD or something, which is becomming a growing trend lately I.E. Underworld Unrated DVD. Though it's a good trend IMO, I like bonus footage.

Anywho, as for the anime, it's based around some nasty Merc going after Riddick, Jack, and Imam (okay he's obviously just after Riddick, but the other two obviously tag along). It's pretty much an episode at best, hell who knows, there might be another one made, they're already thinking about making a 3rd movie (if you go by the idea of Pitch Black as CoR's prequal). They probably make a continuation of the anime with the rest of the 'multimedia' project they've been doing and make another game as well I guess o.O.

I know the movie doesn't interest me at all... I didn't even know there was a manga. I'll have to look into it, since I do enjoy some sci-fi.

I knew the animation on the dvd cover looked familiar. especially after watching like two eps of reign. not sure if i want to see it now.

hmmm. to spend of not to spend? that is the question.

Yes. The amount of footage shown in the previews that was not in the film was rather ridiculous. That wasn't my only problem with it. The plot and some of the details could have been a little better. Just minor stuff though. I thought the film was a good sci-fi action flick, that had great costuming and amazing sets.
