Much of episode 4 of FLCL, particularly the part immediately following the "mouth to mouth/mouse" line where Miyu Miyu beats up a mouse version of Haruko, and the part where Haruko and Naota are talking on the street and the view keeps changing and Kamon's head drops to the ground and then Haruko's holding Naota's head instead.

That FLCL left me totally bewilered. I had no idea what the hell was going on.
The subbing in RG Veda was a little odd, so there were parts of that that threw me off a bit. There was a scene where some general (Bishmontat or something like that) was reporting to the emperor and I was pretty lost.
The rather ambiguous ending of Noir confused me too.

In a mad world, only the mad are sane.

I can say I've never been confused for long in regards to any particular scene in anime... except for magical girl transformation sequences. And even that's superficial, because i understand the 'need' for it. Just like I understand the 'need' for the hero character to 'power up' to his 'full power' for three fucking episodes. [/angst]
Nothing has to be explained or defined, each story has it's own quirks and elements and everything lends itself to a wonderful trip. My brain takes all the elements of a good story, and i draw my own conclusions. That's the point of a good story. You come away with something that maybe bob didn't consider.
Everyone doesn't understand Eva's ending because they don't understand that they have to draw their own conclusions on why and how it ended. Those that DO understand, and have already drawn their own conclusions, bicker about who is right. The answer? Everyone is.
