How to rip FF8 movies

i just finished final fantasy 8 (for pc)
is there a way to rip the videos from the cds?
i guess i could make a video from ^^

Check the CD.....
Wait... PC? Yeah. If its for a PC you don't need to rip them. Just copy and paste. There is no problem there (except finding them). But what you do need is proper program to read these files. I don't know what they are (the file extentions), but If you post them I'll beable to hlep more.
Just give every file extention on the disk.

FF8 for PC? Huh, didn't know about that.

I wonder, would Castor Troy's pss extraction method work? Make an image file, use Nova on it, don't rename to pss?

That's probably doing it the hard way, though.

there are 6 files:
disk4.pak disk 4 field2.fs field.fi field.fl field.fs
378.408k 1k 5.177k 32k 120k 287.230k

my guess is it's on disk4.pak
if i cant get the videos from the poc version o can borrow a playstation version a friend of me owns

Unless you're constantly swapping discs, there should be some videos on each CD.

And if you borrow the PS version, then you can definitely get the movie files.

i ithink the pss method won't work, at least for the PS version, as it uses str, its not mpeg2, the resolution is 320x240 (the height might vary).
as for the pc version i'm not sure.

i dont have the psx cds, only the pc ones
i can borrow the psx cds from a friend and use them, but i'd rather rep the videos from my pc cds right now

While i realize they aren't the same game the Final Fantasy 7 PC game discs have Mpegs on each of the cds.
