I'm going to transfer these over from Mark N.'s post on the mailing list. Apparently, there were not enough entries (only seven) to make a contest (i.e. no awards). The info's a little sparse, so if anyone knows more, feel free. These are the new
Final Fantasy - Praise - Sevendust
Spottiswoode and his Enemies - Bebop - Darkside Productions
Ah! My Goddess - We're In Heaven
One Last Breath - Weiss Kreuz - Gluhen
Kingdom Hearts - Heart Will Go On
Ah! My Goddess - Send Me An Angel - Real Life
The seventh video was played late at night. It was to Perfect Blue (mckeed's "Cry Little Idol" ??).

Darn, I should have entered mine. I entered a vid for Expo. I felt kind of unsure about entering this contest. PME's rules stated that we must have permission to use music and video. That was what scared me off. Did those who entered have to show proof of permission? Does anybody out there actually get permission from the artists and anime companies to make their AMVs? If I have misunderstood that what we do is illegal and that we always run the risk of getting sued and that we actually should be getting permission to use content before entering a contest, please tell me now. And if so, how do you go about getting permission?
So the lack of entries was why they resorted to showing old ones? Makes me wonder if they had the consent to show the old ones that they did. The whole event seemed pretty much run by Anime Expo staff, so I guess if you sent it to Expo in the past, it got shown a PME. Well, they were all downloaded files, so I guess they don't need permission.

Okay, I've been rereading the rules. I suppose there is a difference between 'must have permission' and 'creators responsible for'. Either way I didn't really feel comfortable about trying this contest and decided to be cautious and see if it was any good.
More details about the contest and correspondences with coordinators can be seen at their forum.
