AMV Crashing
Ok, couldn't really find if this had been posted before or not, so easy on the flames if it has.
Anyways, my issue is this. On certain AMV's, (I Wish I Was A Lesbian and Emergency At St. Joel Center are the two that come to mind) they will play part of the way through, and then WMP will just crash to the desktop with not so much as an error message. Thinking it might be an issue with WMP, i opened up Premiere, only to get the same result.
I thought it might be something to do with the LAME MP3 codec they use, but I have other videos that use the same codec and work just fine. Doesn't seem to be an XviD problem either, as most of the videos I have use it.
Anyone have any ideas why this might be happening?

i use the same media player as you(im not touching 9 either lol)but i dont have that problem. Try downloading winamp, i forgot the link. Just do a search on yahoo for it, and see if winamp crashes as well. If that happens, its definetly your codecs.Fire_Starter1982 wrote:Oh yeah, in case this helps, I'm running WinXP pro and whatever WMP it came with (I'm not touching WMP9) on an AthlonXP 2500 and 512mb or RAM.

Ok, I'm completely confused now. Uninstalled DivX, XviD, LAME, etc, and installed the latest versions of XviD and LAME. Still the same problem. Happens in WMP, Premiere, Winamp, everything. VDub gives me "ACM reported error on audio decompress (b)."
If it was all files using LAME, i could understand....but why it's just a few I have no idea. I've also tried disabling the Fraunhoffer codec, upping the priority for LAME, etc. All to no avail...
