what does youre parents or friends think of watching anime?

my dad thinks ime fucking nuts for spending money on it and watching it.
and almost all my friends watch it so that isint a problem for me

My parents like some anime. They'll watch Cowboy Bebop, Angelic Layer, and Studio Ghibli movies, and my mom likes Chobits as well. They're neutral to most animes though, but they dislike FLCL and Excel Saga (which I like), and they dislike all of the animes I really dislike, so it's pretty cool on the whole.

They think I should buy more regular novels though, like I did before I started buying anime DVDs.

As for my friends, some of them don't like it but they tolerate it, and some of them like it or at least like Studio Ghibli movies (which shows good taste imo).

Some my friends love anime like me and some think that its stupid. And parents well they watch anime too.

my parents hate my anime and the only place to watch it is in the family room. they want let me have a tv in my room, but they tell me to go watch it somewhere else. does anyone have any suggestions on what i can do?

My parents feels the same way as your dad...

Every time that something cool is happening, like Evangelion Unit-02 is disembowling Production Models with her hand, my parents aren't around. But when Misato and Kaji are in bed together and Kaji is shoving something up her *****, my parents decide to walk into the room. Dammit. Their idea of anime is so freaking bad. I've tried showing them cool anime. I started with weak ones like Princess Mononoke and Metropolis to ease them into the idea of an animation being a cool thing, but I'm afraid that if I show them something UBER cool, like Ninja Scroll, then they'll throw out all my anime or something. Sux0rz.

They think that all animation is for kids. They think that if it has any type of "adult" stuff in it at all, then it should be thrown away. They don't see anything good in anime. They think that an animation should be escapism from the realities of life like death and blood and violence, and that's why so much death and stuff in anime P.O.'s them.

...Makes me so sick.

I've never had any problems with it. Plus none of the people at my old highschool would have had the right to say anything since half of them watch Spongebob Square pants

. My only problem with other people and anime was when I mentioned it and they told me that Goku could kick my favorite characters ass. Fortunatly Im not much of an anime holilc to talk about it around friends, Im more likely to challenge them to a sparring match then to ask their opinion of anime.

see the thing is ime 18 and my dad thinks that anime is meant for people that are 13-14 (i was half tempted to download bible black and then ask him his opinions on anime

) and for the 1 guy who asked what he code do about his problem with his parents. youre screwed, get a job and get a tv or keep bugging them is what ide do. another problem i have is the big screen in the living room has digatal cabel and the action chanel play unedited anime at midnights called animidnight and he'l never let me watch the fuckin fing, also i have anime on demand,same prob

if my friends dont like anime then there no friends of mine. but im very domonate in dealing with other people. my mom thinks im crazy becouse i told her that anime wanted to have my baby and that i was going to marry her some day(some how). she thinks i spend to much money on anime i only spend about 100 to 200 dallors a week on anime (its well worth it) she says it would be cheaper if i had a drug problem rather then my love for anime... well, there was this one time my friend came over and open my closet and like 29 anime dvd fell on his head, knocking him out, ever since then he has been calling hinself 'gaav'... but thats besides the point (again)...
