Local Video Upload?

Post by ShadowFox626 » Mon May 31, 2004 9:54 am

I’m kind of new to this the Anime Music Vedio.org uploading and stuff so is it possible to have my videos hosted by the Anime Music Vedio.org, because I’ve seen videos that have a local download link to them and I was just wondering how I could go about setting up my videos like that?

Oh, and if anyone has a guide for uploading videos I would be thankful if you could post it so I could Read it

I think there's a guide somewhere, but I can't be bothered to find it, so here's the basics:

1. Sign in and click Enter New Video.

2. Put in all the info for the video.

3. Go to Upload Video and select the video you've just entered, after making sure it fits the criteria and is <100MB.

4. Use your favourite ftp program to upload the video using the username and password the Upload Video system gave you.

5. After uploading, go to Upload Video again and click Confirm Upload.

6. Go to your profile and admire the Local next to your video :)

You'll have to find your own, but don't worry, they're everywhere. Very easy stuff to find.

If you don't put a link in, the video will still be entered, just with NO next to it. Although you shouldn't enter Work In Progress videos, it's meant to be for completed videos only.

For FTP, Windows and Linux come with FTP programs, but you need to be happy using the command line to use them. I use FTPExplorer for my uploads, it's free and does the job :)

As for the guide, I'm sure I've seen links somewhere, but I can't remember where. What exactly do you need to know? I think if you follow the steps in my earlier post you won't have any problems.

What I need (not to sound like a noob) but is a step by step instruction on how to upload a video, having never uploaded one before and I have never really used an Ftp program?

P.S. would having a Mac affect my upload posses?

In addition, how do I put a link in if I don’t have

Just had a look at your profile to see what anime you're using. Star Wars Clone Wars isn't an anime (unless I'm very much mistaken) - I don't think the site will let you upload a non-anime music video... You can have it listed on the site and hosted off-site, but not locally. Sorry!
