Check my rotoscoping masked out figure.

Post by Khen Rigzin » Mon May 31, 2004 8:27 am

Footage's from Bebop ( mushroom samba ), I used AE 5.5 to mask this guy of out the footage ( it's the scene where francoise & ein are to the left messing with this guy )
It consist of 4 masks ( left arm, right one, face & body )
Here's the link

You think I did well? Are there any other techniques? To speed things up, to be more accurate in masking ( I tried vector paint but the thing is you can't use this effect on animated footage )

Some advice would be welcome...
Friendly greets

That looks good, except a small spot of white on his arm right when it first moves.

The jerkyness on the scrolling scene really throws it off. I'd check the IVTC on that scene, and see if theres anything you can do to fix the blending.

Oh, and if you can't fix the scrolling, I would try and add a similar blending effect on the guy, to make it look like its at least the same material.

Overall it looks pretty good, but the jerkyness is distracting. are you sure that you have your field order right?

Ok I added a few effects to fit this guy into the footage
Equalize, blend & some color balance...
Looks a whole lot better now.

I got the footage from a bad encode..

Anyone got some more techniques, pointers for me?
Everything involving masking & putting it on other footage..
