Grainy Transitions/Effects?
Um.. hello ^^;; First post on the forum. And.. sorry if this is in the wrong place, I feel like a newbie, lol. >.<
Moving on. I just reformatted my pc yesterday after a virus disabled my pc from doing anything, reinstalled Adobe Premiere 6.5, and started working on an amv I'd planned before my pc crashed.
I got back to where I'd been before the reformat, and it looked fine when I played it - so I exported it as it was to see how it ran. The video (so far) has 2 zooming transitions, some flashing scenes (these aren't effected) and a black and white "noise" effect.
The transitions and noise effect both seem to be grainy and cut off when it exports - the show up with little lines every few pixels, which is sorta confusing - since I haven't done anything to make it do something like that.
I'm okay (I guess) at using premiere now, but before I was pretty bad, and this is my first real video using it - which is why I'm kinda worried incase I've done something wrong with the program. It's not the footage since the footage is reasonably clean and doesn't seem to have any problems while playing, it's *only* when there's a transition or effect.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks! But if no one can help, I guess that's okay, since.. well, lol, it is my first real try in premiere, and .. well, I guess it's expected that it won't be brilliant or anything.. and of course, practice makes perfect ^_^;;[/b]

Word to the wise, colored purple text agaisnt a gray background with a small font size makes me want to claw my eyes out sooner than read your post. And with nothing better to go on in your description than, "little lines every few pixels" it sounds to me like interlacing. In which case you should Read ErMaC & AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly AMV Guides. (Read ErMaC and AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly Amv Guides)
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

Hmm.. I'll try that guide, thanks. It's weird though, it didn't happen last time I made up to where I am o.O;
Thanks anyway, I'll see what I can do about it.

As said cataclysm, I just think your project or export settings use interlacing where they shouldn't.
Namely, in the Settings (of your project AND Export)
"Keyframe and Rendering" tab, you should have the value :
"Frames - None"

I've been exporting as various preset codecs (I can't remember all of them - I think the main one's Cinepak or something?) and DivX. DivX mades the video go all blurry due to overuse of some effects and due to high action, which is why I prefer Cinepak, but that gets interlaced. It's larger, yes, but it gives a good quality result with little damage when there's high action.devilmaykickass wrote:Certain codecs/formats will do this if you export directly from Premiere as well. What codec/format are you exporting it as?
WilLoW - I'll see if that makes a difference ^_^ Thanks.

Seeing as you're from jolly ol' england I'll tell you that I asked about this once before and got some fairly good answers. If you seach the forum I'm sure you'll find it.
I'm bored and you're dumb. A match made in heaven.
