  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Guess What!?

Post by Wheee_It's_Me! » Fri May 28, 2004 7:03 am

...I finished it! Yay for me!

Heh, you can download my latest video on my site (in the downloads section, under AMVs):
www.backwater-productions.net

Title: Feeling This
Anime: Kiddy Grade
Music: The Offspring - Dammit I Changed Again
File Size: 60mb
Format: SVCD

Can't put it up on the .org cause I can't put it up under the proper name. Phade says one thing:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... 2&start=30
But does another. Don't ask me why. *shrugs*

I liked it.

Action videos aren't really my thing, but the sync job is just too good not to recommend it.

I'd replace a few of the straight cuts with crossfades (example: the very last cut, to the two of them), but that's just my opinion.

I guess this goes to show that you don't have to be able to write a good paper in order to make a good video.

It was good. The world needs more Kiddy Grade videos

Though I think you could've made it more fun. I liked the anime and made an AMV to it because it was so much fun while this video is more serious. I guess that are different ways how we look at it ;)

Overall a nice action video, nothing too special. Good lipsynch :)

That was a nice improvement over your previous work. I think you could've modified the lip sync a bit though. There's something about little girls somewhat timidly moving their mouths to the yelling of the Offspring that doesn't seem to fit. If you could've found scenes that show those characters yelling or with more urgent looks on their faces I think it would've given those sequences a little more pep. Also, there was one moment near the begining (as the ship was rising) where it looked like you lowered the frame rate, and it kinda stuck out.

It's definately my favorite vid from you thus far, keep it up.
The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

One of the biggest challenges I had with this video is that I had to finish the whole thing in under a week (in order for it to be eligible for this local art contest). Interestingly enough it's actually one of the fastest I've ever made, as far as editing time. There are a few things I would have liked to have done a lil differently, the thing is I'm not really sure how. Often times when I make AMVs if I don't completely like something I'll just put it on the shelf until I get some grand idea. The fact that when I was clip harvesting I was mostly only looking for action sequences didn't help much either. Originally this video was just going to be mindless action, instead of having a semi-coherent plot. On the one hand, if it was just mindless action, it probably would have looked a LOT cooler (cause DAMN there is some incredible action footage in KG)...but then the downside is that I don't think it would have been much else besides that.

For my next video I'm going to either use Battle Athletes with La Bouche - Be My Lover, or Read or Dream with Shakira - Whenever, Wherever.

I also had this one idea for doing an AMV to Hellsing with "I Against I" and "Do You Want It", but the songs are WAY too fast and there's just not enough footage. Even with that Offspring song, which isn't incredibly fast, I had to up most of the footage to around 200%+ of normal speed.

I always wanted to see someone do a vid to that song (aside from my old crappy one).
