No, there's a world of difference between realizing that a person is attractive and having sex with them. There's a difference between realizing that a person is attractive and being attracted TO them, actually. I know you know better, so it would be nice if you wouldn't perpetuate this stupid stereotype.

It's as simple as "what would you want to look like," fercryinoutloud. If it doesn't make sense to you any other way, think of it that way.

Actually, to clarify:

Although I'm positive towards many bishounen character designs, I can't say I'd want to look like them. Nope. Not at all. I have my own strange ideals.

I can clearly see what would make them appealing to women, etc., but a lot of them do look far too thin, feminine and just plain... angsty, for what I'd want to look like.

In that respect, I actually like many of the goofy male anime characters out there - more so than bishounen. I find them much more relatable and closer to what I'd want to look like. I mean, come on. Me looking smooth and angsty is just wrong.

Exactly. However Otohiko does have a point about the often wisp thin heros of various series. Like Utena and most anything made by CLAMP. Course I tend not to care as I have that build and fairly long hair for guy anyway.

I agree though. It is an admiration of character to aspire to have more qualities like theirs in yourself.
