What kind of colour blind are you? Red-green? Shade blind? theres a few different kinds, my dad is colour blind and he has no problems picking out colours, its just when some colours are placed against other colours. Sometimes he cant tell between blue and brown when they are close together.

But yeh. depending on what kind you are, it may not be a hassle at all. And another thing, you cant be "kinda colour-blind", just like you cant be "kinda dead" or "a little bit pregnant".

true. that is why partial color blindness is more accurately and concisely known as being color impaired.
i believe my colorblindnes is known as green-blue. to me, evergreen trees are brown, and the sky is purple. =\ so in other words, i see several shades darker then "normal" people do. sometimes it gets highly irritating too. Blues have always been my favorite colors but since that is a primarary area of my colorblindness blue is defiantly out. Spike, the guy good enough to create the basis of my new logo made it mostly out of either greens or browns. hell, maybe both for all i know as i cant tell.
that is why my attempts to add text of my company to the graphic matching colors and style with what is there hasnt gone so well.

just once, and if only for a little while, ild like to see things as others do. i badly want to know what nature and the world looks like as it was made, and as it was meant to be seen. i dont lament this very much because at least i DO have sight, and in general fairly good sight even if it is a bit warped. many dont have anywhere near even this much.
Even if the voices in my head aren't real, they have some Damn good ideas, you're just jealous because they only talk to me.

Ahh, so u have what can also be called colour-dyslexia. Don't worry about being able to see things the same way everyone else does. Individual perception dictates that we all see things differently. Why do you think interor decorators always fight? they cant agree on what shade of colour is called what and what it matches to.

:?: dawhaaa? :?: that's a new one. never heard of color dyslexia before. altho there is a colilation. my mother once claimed i had a mild case of dyslexia as a very young child. the validity of that is defaintly in question, but if true i dont see why the two wouldnt be related. Often things are too coincidental to be true coincidence.

i always believed taht differant decorators, interior and otherwise, argue due mostly to a differance in tastes. if yould care to hear something Really odd and a perfect example: even with my color blindness, such as it is, i have much better taste in decorating and style in general then my lovely wife does. she will even admit to. grudgingly to be sure, but she will nonetheless.

I'm dyslesic. But most of my dyslecsia was when I was younger. I failed nearly every spelling test! but now I'm over the language barrier. I still have trouble with some other things spelling still, and keying. Nothing major. I'm also pretty good at noticing upside down or backwards letters, but I don't know where they are in the word. Reading upside down and backwards is easy for me aswell. Sometimes I don't know that its backwards!
I still wish my image would have gotten up.

I took some graphics programming course in college, and one section was on color. What I thought was funny was that all these mathematical graphs and equations that equaled color had some of the most odd names. I swear, one of the colors was "an october sky on a slightly overcast day".
Another pointless post!

diddo that, except that i DO know that a word is backwards. i also remember something about hanging upsidedown..... most kids thought it made things look strange. i didnt. i vaguely remember trying it and thinking "what's the big deal?"

i did used to know how to type fairly well. learned in high-school. but typing is one of those skills that if you dont Use it, that over time, you Loose it. and high-school was a long Long time ago.

And i totally agree DeamonSpawn, youve really gota wonder about the people that named colors. many of wich i am certian dont even have "real" names so people choose whatever idiotic one occures to them at that time

ditto on the upside down thing. I'd look at stuff and go, well, that isn't so weird. But that's only if I'm upside down. If something else is upside down, I have more trouble with it, though I can read upside down.

And yeah on the colors too. Have you seen paint chips? That's a source of some of the weirdest names. They should just name it for what it looks like, not something random. Or like "meadow" which doesn't tell you anything, that's stupid too.

I'm not dyslexic, by the way, I'm ADD.

It seems every one has their own little thing. Why bother making up a new disorder every 5 minets. Just say that they're diffrent. Are they going to start making up things for people that have advantages? No, its fun to pick on the dumb kid. I never tell anyone I'm dislecsic anymore. I just say I have trouble spelling. Every one is special so shut up!

Sorry built up excitement blowing off. I don't get excited anymore because I sweat when I'm excited. I don't like to sweat, Ergo I don't get excited.

As for colours. I thin there should only be about 10 colours and 5 shades (pluse white and black) <---{I just typed black 4 times, I couldn't remember corecctly.} Any other colour should just be a mix of this and that colour. Make it simple.

Hey, they have to pay the psychologists. Or is it the psyciatrists? :?

Also, so they can detail reasons for each effect (ADD, for instance, is lack of oxygen to parts of the brain).

And yeah, I usually don't tell people either. Someone (who I'd thought was a friend) totally misunderstood me and she's like "oh, so you're retarded?"

Plus, I can usually deal with it now, and it's not like I'm a "severe case" or anything, so no one needs to know.
