what are RAW files ?

just heard people saying stuff like "you could search for the RAW's online" and stuff like that, so what exactly are RAW's ?

RAW's are not really a type of file, just a term used for anime sources that are not licensed and contain no subtitles with the japanese audio. Raws are the anti-fansub.

Raws are also usually encoded in MSMPEG4V2 because evidently, people in japan are fucktards.

where you getting your RAW's? The ones i get are all divx. Not like it matters if you use avisynth though.
