I thought...myself...that the plot sucked. The show was kind of all style and no substance. Of course I only have the first two DVD's, but I probably won't get around to buying the rest since I don't like the story all that much @_@
Slick animation though. Love all the scenes with the InterCobbele.

If you meant Intoccabile, yes, those scenes were cool.

/Noir nazi
And to the original poster: Saying that Noir is too serious is like saying Azumanga Daioh is too funny or Bible Black has too much sex. I mean, the series are supposed to be like that. There are different kinds of shows that aim to arouse different feelings in the viewers' minds. Noir just wouldn't be Noir anymore if it wasn't extremely serious and sad.

Noir with comedy? No, the show was far to focused on its wonderful enthralling atmosphere and its attempt at "noir" to have comedy. It succeeded, with its superb atmosphere, capturing the dreary atmosphere that exists within the minds of the characters. Comic relief would have ruined what the show intended to be.
Truly a solid series, excellently put together, superbly done, wonderfully entertaining. It has its flaws, but it's all part of the show, it set out to be a certain thing and the creators succeeded.
Shadow Flare - you're clearly not going to be able to understand the plot if you haven't seen the whole series. The "rising action" plot of the story doesn't even start till the third volume.

Look at all my trials and tribulations
Sinking in a gentle pool of wine.
Don't disturb me now, I can see the answers
'Till this evening is this morning, life is fine.
