Sound Effects

Post by Zero1 » Thu May 20, 2004 6:35 pm

Hey there, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of some high qualiy sound effects. The type I am looking for would be cars and general anime sound effects, (like the Tenchi Muyo - Yoooooooo!, and the dramatic piano strike etc.)

It's all in aid of a new AMV idea I have, I'm hoping to have the AMV start as a normal video with characters interacting with general (non anime) minus voice acting, (I may request some voice overs from you guys if it works out well :D ) music for like an intro, then go into the AMV itself.

Quality is a real issue too, I'm particularly looking for 192kbps MP3 or higher (Preferably 224-320), will also take raw WAV files.

Thanks

After listening to my rips, KBps means shit (to me). I have a bunch of ripped WMV's that are taken from the CD itself at 56 Kbps, and they sound like 512.

Don't know a good place to find Sound effects other then fart.com, and they probably aren't the ones you're looking for. Most sound effects come in software packets that you have to pay for.

for the most part, you are gonna have to find them yourself. Usually from DVDs themselves.

I dont know what in the world you are talking about. If you really think a 56kpbs audio file has the same audio integritty as that of a 512kbps, then you need to have your ears looked at, or at least fine tune what you are listening to. kbps matters alot in audio.

As for the effects, just try googling it if you dont have the dvds to do it from.

No they don't. You are incorrect.

There are many sound effect CDs that you can buy for various types of effects. For example, this one (Amazon.com link, scroll down). Search Amazon or some other music site for similar CDs.

I've never seen one for just anime sound effects, although an import drama CD may be one possible source. (Drama CDs, if you've never heard one, are like "radio plays" for anime.),
