the box set which includes the first 5 dvd's(episodes 1-23 i believe) is about $70. I got it at best buy for $66.99, and it comes with a GTO T-shirt ^_^(XL size)

It's prolly one of the best shows I've ever downloaded. Me and my fiancee' downloaded the 1st episode one saturday, and ended up downloading the rest as fast as we could. Watched it for 9 straight hours that day. It's just that awesome.

I'd personally go as far as to say that it is better then the anime!

Yep yep, GTO for life! It was very enjoyable all the time. I've never got bonded for any show this much. *sniff* Such a sucky ending

. Can anyone recommend me some other anime with similar thematic and event development? Or even better, does the manga have material for additional eps. or there won't be anything more with Eikichi Onizuka at all?
