Rule number 1
I got interested in AMV's a while back, but never really gave thought to making my own until recently (last week in fact) and when I refound this site, I took it as a godsend. Until I opened the first post, the sticky post directly to newbies. I thought it would be perfect.
I may not have posted here before, but I do frequent other message boards and never have I seen such rude posts tolerated much less stuck up at the top of the page with a special attention to newbies. What happened to the first rule about being courteous at all times?
But you know something, these boards aren't needed to make AMV's.

Everything I have ever told you, even this, is a lie.

Oh yeah, and if you want to get started in making AMVs, you may find this more helpful than the forums:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech/
Personally, I swear by it. It contains all sorts of great technical info and how-to that no AMVer should go without... so you can worry about more important things, like substance.

What is your definition of "rude"? jBone's post seems completely reasonable.ShadowcatX wrote: I may not have posted here before, but I do frequent other message boards and never have I seen such rude posts tolerated much less stuck up at the top of the page with a special attention to newbies. I think he's talking about the fact that it was directed towards new people.
Either way, if you're new, you might want to know what's going on and what to do. New people tend to ask questions that have already been answered a million times before, and it would be easier and quicker for them to find the answer for themselves somewhere else than making a thread about it again where someone might not answer it because of the above situation or answer it rudely. I don't see a problem with that sticky, it's not there to insult new people it's there to help.
