Um, I hope you mean Conan the Adventurer, because Conan the Barbarian was the movie in which Arnold Schwarzenegger took on the Snake-Worshiping Cult of James Earl Jones. :)
Oh, I thought the cartoon was related to the movie. Oh well.
Oh, was it? I didn't consider they might have been related... but then, I never saw the movie, and the animated series is too old for me to remember much about, except for the general gist of the opening song.

Then why isn't there "Late Night with C**** O'Brien"?

:P
Probably because people could possibly confuse two cartoon series named "Conan [foo]", but a talk show is different enough that people won't get the two confused.

There are laws along those lines involving product/company names, I think, so it's probably something like that.

There never was a Conan cartoon. "Conan The Adventurer" was a live action show. I can understand why Lupin III was renamed "Rupan" or "The Wolf" though.

There was a Conan cartoon show before. They used to show it on weekday mornings on a channel that's now UPN.

I think if you do a quick search, you'll find that "Conan the Adventurer" was also an animated series that ran in the early 90s, and it is in fact based on the Conan comics. Personally, I remember it being on Saturday mornings.

I saw the first few episodes of Detective Conan/Case Closed years ago, but IIRC it is pretty bloody for a show targeted for kids (at least here, it's a-okay in Japan). Hell, the first episode features a beheading.

*pokes case closed with stick*
*retreats quickly to dark corner and hisses*
*continues to poke with even longer stick*

hmm. looks like it could be interesting but the animation puts me off and the fact that
the main character goes from a seventeen y/o to a second grader. Not too interested in watching a little kid (whether he's 17 or not) run around and solve crimes
but perhaps I'm jumping to conclusions. but still
*hisses*
