Manga Seiyuu
I know this sounds kind of funny, but does anyone ever read manga and picture the ideal seiyuu to do certain characters? Like, for example, long before I saw the Inuyasha anime, I read the manga. I always pictured Inuyasha's voice being "done"by Sarah Strange ( at least I think that's her name - sorry if I'm wrong) for obvious reasons.
I've also got my own ideal seiyuu for the manga Dragon Knights and Vampire Game - but it doesn't look like there's a lot of people who have read them, so I won't get into those details. But, I would like to know if any of you guys do the same thing. I suppose I'm asking more about mangas that haven't become anime. OR, mangas in which the reader hasn't seen the anime yet. So, if that made any sense, anyone care to share their thoughts?

All the time since I've been watching a lot of English dubbed series for a very long time. What's really fun is reading the X/1999 manga and thinking of the voice actors of the X TV from Bang Zoom! Entertainment doing the voices. There's actually a good amount of comedic moments in the manga especially from Sorata so thinking of Tony Oliver's voice (who by the way did the voice of Sorata) made it more enjoyable.

While reading any speaking parts in a manga I always have the characters voices saying it in my head....the voices I would imagine them to have anyway, not specifically VA only ones.

Sometimes I think of the voices of my friends when I'm reading a manga, like in Azumanga Daioh. Hence why I call a few of my friends Tomo, Chiyo, and Kagura.
When I was reading the Wish manga I kept thinking of Takehito Koyasu as Shuichi. I love that guy...he has the coolest voice EVER. The only VA I know by name is Lex Lang, who's pretty cool as well.

No, but I do it when I'm reading books. For example, if Dracula was ever turned into a Japanese Anime, the Japanese voice for Vicious from Cowboy Bebop must play the Count.

not specific people, but sort of
Example: By the time I finished reading the Cardcaptor Sakura manga I had forgotten the voices of the English VAs, so I imagined my own voices... Sakura's voice was a lot more pleasant than in the dub (I was disappointed seeing the dub again)
:pulls out Nausicaa manga: Holy... that sounds like me!

Of course you're talking about the dub made by Nelvana, right?bubblehead wrote:not specific people, but sort of

Yeah, the EVIL English dub... Well... not quite evil, but leaves a lot to be desired.angelx03 wrote:Of course you're talking about the dub made by Nelvana, right?bubblehead wrote:not specific people, but sort of
