Heh, I don't like Shonen Ai either...

Anyways, if I could get ties for best anime, they'd be:

Onegai Teacher
Great Teacher Onizuka
Kanon

and now just recently added to my list, yet not listed here at the org:

Saikou Heiki Kanojo (She, the Ultimate Weapon)
[my vote for one of the most BAD ASS anime thus far...]

You guys are lucky to have access to so many good anime. I've only seen like 10 anime series and not even the full series at that.

Here's my list:

1) I just got my Evangelion DVD's a month ago so I'm still into It.
2) Gundam Wing (In a general sense), Saw five episodes and fell in love.
3) Ah! My Goddess (Movie also). Saw 3 AMG episodes and Movie and loved it since.
4) Princess Mononoke. (A big fan of long animated movies)
5) Akira (Gotta love this classic.)

Man, do I know how you feel. Sailor Moon is my favorite anime too and all I get is crap for it. People tell me I should watch more serious anime. Yeah well, it's pretty serious to me. Life, death, love, freindship, good and evil.

It's not like that's all I watch. I do watch other anime too.

I should stop here. Once I get started on this I don't stop lol.
