Anime Deleted?

Post by Arigatomina » Wed May 12, 2004 10:33 pm

It seems all my vids that had Inu Yasha footage were gone over and the anime deleted. Since these are old, I'm now going to have to go and make a 'change information' request for each and every one of them to get the anime used added back in. My question - why? I thought changing the anime to clean up the database just renamed them - not deleted everything that used that title. Now I have vids with no anime listed - on local! And it certainly isn't because I didn't add anime - it's because I didn't pick a different spelling of the anime or add a new spelling version to the database.

I just want to know if this has happened to anyone else using this particular anime. And if so, are our vids in danger of being deleted for being on local without anime? Considering I did put in the anime used before uploading, I think it would be pretty sad if my newest one were reported because I'm waiting for the change information request to go through and fix what I already had. >.<

I just don't know what happened. The change in anime for Inu Yasha was done a while back, and I *remember* it was simply renamed for my videos using that anime. I don't understand why the new name (the same one that's in the server now) would disappear from my vid descriptions - especially now that it's too late to add them back manually.

So...if anyone notices that this vid:

...is on local without anime listed, *please* don't drop it in the mods box for deletion. I did have an anime listed, it just disappeared in the last...day? I didn't have those "anime not listed" errors when I uploaded my last vid (last night), so it has to be recent.

/off to put in a few dozen 'change info' requests ~_~

Correction. ~_~

I can't put in a request because the request form is still registering the titles as being there. They just aren't showing up on the video profile (or my main profile page, or the 'upload video' page). This really sucks. :?

All of the Inu Yasha videos I've reviewed are now nameless, including Omnistrata's videos (one of which is over a year old). But I guess no one wants to talk about the problem. o.O

Oddly enough, I managed to rename my two oldest videos - they were *past* the editing date, but I was able to edit them anyway. Only my newest Inu Yasha video couldn't be edited. None of them should have been able to be edited (past the 2 week date), so it's not just a disappearing name issue. And it seems to be just this anime - I've used over a hundred anime so far, and all of them are showing just fine. It's only Inu Yasha (TV) and the movies that have disappeared.

I really think it's just Inu Yasha. If you do a few searches you'll see most of the IY vids are labeled as "Inu-Yasha" - which is just dumb since that isn't even an option when you go to choose the anime. o.O

Do a search for "Kagome" in the title and you'll see a lot of the vids that have gotten their anime deleted, some on local, others not - but all of them had the "Inu Yasha (TV)" title until a few days ago.

On a happier note, I did manage to request that Inu Yasha (TV) be added back to my newest video, so once the 8 or so requests go through, I won't have to worry about the vid being deleted. I just wish I knew if it's just the browsers (the error/bugs that are going around now), a bug with the anime, or some change they're doing on purpose and didn't want to mention to people until after the vids are deleted for not having anime and being on local.

All I know is that the first vid I see linked in the mods box, I'm going to contact every single person whose anime titles have been deleted and get a mass complaint going. They deserve the chance to at least request that their vids be given anime titles again *before* they're deleted for not having them. At present, I'm just going to PM a few, namely Omnistrata and Songbird - and the ones that I've reviewed (the ones I know for a *fact* were properly listed until a few days ago).

A bug must have happened when aliasing one of the many Inu Yasha titles.

I dont know how this happened... it's pretty odd... but it has.

How to fix it, I'm not sure. After I finished aliasing everything I asked everyone to check their video entries and I never had any reported mistakes back then... so I dont know if this has been true for months or whether it is a recent occurance. I just dont know.

As for getting a mass complant going, it's not going to solve anything. We can't just go an put Inu Yasha in all the videos that have an anime missing - people are just going to have to correct it themselves using the tools currently available.

Oh, the mass complaint would just be an attempt to keep vids from being deleted on-sight for not having anime listed - since right now any one of these could be dropped in the mods box and be 'gone' without the owner knowing and without the mod realizing it was one of the 'bugged' vids.

But mine's back. ^_^

Unfortunately, Omni's aren't:

So I can't speak for anyone else. :?
