I didn't see this posted here yet, so guess what, there's going to be a new GitS TV series. Character designs by Shirow Masamune (Yay!), music by Yoko Kanno.

Apparently, Bandai is in on the financing, so its basically already licensed out of the gate.

I heard it might be a simultaneous US/Japan release.

I saw a preview/trailer for it at AXNY and I looks awesome. I can't wait.

There was a woman from Production IG there who said it was going to show on Japanese PPV starting on October 1st and would be coming out on DVD in Japan in December, but she had no idea when it would be coming out in the US...which raises doubts that it'll be a simultaneous US/Japan release
