Ahhhh. I see. Lol. Pardon me then *Bows* it is perfect.Otohiko wrote:As for the 'humming bird' - actually, that's entirely intentional. It's just a little bit exhaggarated, but it's based on the actual guitarist - I saw him play a similar solo (both live and on a DVD), and this is pretty much the physical impression I got

Constant flickering? That's odd. I had some flashes on the long part where the door is opening but I took them out cause I could get them to look the way I had envisioned. In fact there's really no special effects at all. The fanciest thing I've done was crop the frame when the picture of the opera singer first appears. I bet that the most inexperienced editor on this project has twice the skill with effects as I do. Bah, who needs 'em.Songbird21 wrote:Yeah, it's just the song. Sorry bout that. I don't have software that can export to MP3 so the best I can do is export it as .AVIGomen
PenPen- Yay! I finally got to see your latest beta!I was having trouble DLing it. The FTP kept timing out.
I have to say that's some damn fine work. You really told the story well. I found myself wondering "What's gonna happen next?". So awesome! The timing was great. The only thing that bothered me was the constant flickering. The fact that it hurt my eyes aside, I really feel that the editing and story telling you accomplish here carries the video with out the need for the extra embellishment.
It looks like a really creepy anime. Is it all sad or is there anything else to it?

As for the anime it is one of the most emotional pieces I have ever seen. It is very powerful and moving. It is alternately beautiful, tense, frightening, exciting, and depressing.
The new ending to the music that I am creating will hopefully help me showcase this. Yes, that's right, I'm taking a 6:30 minute video and making it even longer!spoiler wrote:It is almost completely devoid of happiness except perhaps for Miguel, who falls into the illusion and is trapped in a dream world, and even that is unsettling. It ends with the infinite sadness of one man floating through space, completely and utterly alone.

Hey, considering the more I saw of that video, the more I liked it, I don't think I'll be complaining about it being any longer than it already is.
qazyseult - welcome! Hope you have the FTP address already (it's a couple of pages back, if you need it).
At this rate, you should have enough time, I wouldn't worry. It doesn't look like the final release will start taking shape any sooner than in a month or more... I might even have time to do another one yet

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

i think we need to think about a cutoff now.
we have:
2 from otohiko, 3 if he gets cowboy bebop footage or comes up with a new idea
one from me
a 13 minute one from rose4emily
one from pen pen
one from songbird
one from jasper isis
at least one from aznraver (he's making the second after APs and SATs i assume)
one from ooshna
one from anubisx00
maybe one from Maverick
and potentially one from qazyseult
which brings us to a grand total of 11-14 videos, ranging from 2-13 minutes. which will bring us to about an hour's worth of footage (averaging each video to be 5 minutes).
pen pen: i watched the req for a nightmare v4. the direction and story is definitely clear and i like the progress it has made. the sound was popping, but i'm pretty sure that was my speakers (which is good for you, bad for me).
but for the next two weeks i have finals so i won't have much time to spend helping out here.

Anubisx00 - very nice on the end of eva vid, I can't wait to see more. I especially like the epic feeling and the scene with the angel walking when the tympanis (sp) change tone. I would steer the vid as much toward the abstract as you can as you will have trouble with character profiling in an instrumental. In my mind the more epic the better with a song like that.
DWP - as much as I hate to say it, I think your right. Although I still think that we need a jazz piece and I'm going to try to whip one out when I go home on Friday. Speaking of project timelines I say we still have a bit, especially if we do fancy introductions, possibly using lipsynch (I still say this is a great idea. Maybe I'll do a demo to convince you guys
)
As for my video, I think the audio is a bit of a problem since parts are very quiet and others are maxed out. I also usually do no audio editing in premiere but this time i did (the drum in the first ten seconds was actually a third version of the song that got left in the audio track by mistake but came out great.) I also just realized that I have been working with compressed audio.
If anyone has a uncompressed version of Requiem for a dream, or even knows what CD I could find it on, tell me.
Only two finals left... I'm going to try to have a new video planned out by Friday and my current one as close to the final version as I can get.

Hmmm. Maybe my comp was just playing it weird, but there was a black flicker on the whole thing. It probably is my comp. It's kinda a piece of shit. Lol. I only have a 1.1GHz processor.pen-pen2002 wrote:Constant flickering? That's odd. Ugh
I'm being lazy again, haven't really worked on my video lately. Damn school, family weddings, mother's day,and all other annoying things going on in my life. I was starting to do character profiling, but it will be near impossible to do it with my limited amount of time I have to edit each day. The video on the ftp is my first attempt at anything. I'm going to go for a epic video that shows the insanity of Evangelion. I should watch Death of Eva and End of Eva again, just so I remember the plot and get some ideas. I'll get chugging away at it hopefully this week.
