Yes, there both based on Van Helsing, but he never killed Dracula in the story. After actually going and bothering to read the end of it (although I was rather sleepy at the time), and it appears that Dracula is not killed (all of his vampire chicks are), he is simply banished from his tomb, never to return.

Ah well, having never read the book I was simply guessing

No prob. After seeing this thread I decided to actually go and bother with reading the last few chapters of Bram Stoker's Dracula.

Thankyou for mentioning the fact that Van Helsing came from Bram Stoker's Darcula. The anime Hellsing, and the movie Van Helsing are related but in no way close to each other. The only way they are related is the same main character or character idea being Helsing and Dracula. I'm actualy leaving right now to go see the movie Van Helsing and I'll certainly let you all know how it is, I've been hyped for it ever since i say the preview.

im so damn confused in the anime they her mr doesnt make any sense to me but i was think wtf integras a female and i was whoa cuz a few days ago was the first time i saw the anime and i would say its pretty damn cool. well thanks for correcting me on my mistake im still a noob at this anime. I love anime with all of my damned heart

I have vols. 1-6, and I highly recommend them.

Yeh, the anime was pretty cool. Unfortunately it has several superhero type functions via Alucard/Arucard (Arucardo?) that usually piss me off. I hate invincible characters that always get new powers whenever things get tough. It steals any real drama or tension from a show.

I thought that the whole story was wise to use Victoria as a focal point. Alucard just didn't seem like all that interesting of a character to me.
Integra had promise, as a dramatic element to the whole story, and the bits that we saw that focused on her past and the formation of her 'relationship' with Alucard were pretty good.

I guess what the series really needed was either more focus on less characters, or a slightly longer run of episodes.

i read the book and its pretty good so i think it is lets just say i a thing for vampires and the undead dont ask i just do
