Sign it - all of you! If you are a true anime fan.
Ever walked into a department store and seen Bubblegum Crisis in the "Children's" Section, Urotsukidoji sitting next to it? How about Mum telling you to let little Ashly watch Evangelion or Lain? This isn't on. I'm sick and tired of the lack of respect anime is given for what it truly is. The artform is destroyed or barely acknowledged by a general eye unless it's censored for the kiddies (like all good little cartoons should be ).
Do you agree? Then let the bolts fly free in here! Tell everyone your greatest stories of "kiddie-syndrome" and about the people who live by it. Have or know a website? Let me know!
This is an interesting site: http://www.abcb.com/parents/index.htm

Censorship, eh? Well, let me tell you, it's my nemesis, I have no fiend or foe greater than censorship, unless its disrespect for anime.
It's a pity that people refuse to respect the artistic value of anime, but putting it in a different section will not do *anything* to change people's opinions of it, or atleast the opinions that matter. I don't care if idiots dislike anime because they assume it's kids stuff, but for the people that are just blinded by misunderstanding or ignorance, maturity ratings and movie sections won't help anything. What they need to do is watch some anime if they want to understand it. I'd love to help people to gain respect for anime, but the best way to do that is to convince them to watch it.
And as for having little Susie Q and the kids being able to watch Evangelion and Lain, well that's a wonderful thing! It's one of my main goals, more kids should watch Evangelion and Lain.

The anime showing in morning/day time I think should be left censored. There are just some things that kids don't need to be exposed to yet (not saying that they should be completely sheltered from the real world).
I normally don't watch the stuff showing during the day anyway(most of it is crap in my opinion). They're the stuff that gives anime a bad name. horrible english dubs and shitty scripts. So who cares if it's censored or not any way?
I do agree with the point made that the original names in the anime should be left alone. Think of it as a learning experience for the kiddies. It's educational! 8)
But, anyway, we have adult swim, for more mature audiences. Yeah, some things are censored but the television networks have to follow certain guidelines and rules, so that over sensitive nutcases don't lynch them. Just the way things are.
