Making an AMV

I have a few questions (of course i do im a noob

)
1)How do i make an AMV?
2)where do i get the scenes/shows from?
3)what programs do i need to make a AMV
4) is it hard? (keep in mind i am a homeschooled 15 year old kid with no life and i have all the time in the world)

4. Yes, but having no life lowers the difficulty level considerably.

and what does everyone use? surely noone invested 1000 dollars into this! even 200 is too much!

Yup. If there's one thing good videos require, it's patience.

Just read the guides on the main site. Trust me on this one: there is no quicker way to find all the answers than Read <a href=http://www.a-m-v.org/guides/avtech31/>ErMaC & AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly AMV Guides</a> (not an insult

Oh, they have. Many people spend just that much (or much more) on the software, nevermind the DVD's.

And, don't rely on anything but the real thing (DVD's). If you lack money, at least do everyone a favor and borrow some DVD's from your friends or rent them. Sub-standard footage sucks, as anyone who's been at this for any length of time will tell you.

For beginners, Windows Movie Maker is probably optimal - that is, if you got WinXP on your computer. It's not a great program, but considering you're broke - it's a good choice, and it's not too complicated.

Other stuff is a step up from there. There's so bloody many programs, it might take you a while just to read through the list...
