Studio Name Character Limit.

Originally posted here, I would like to put forth to the a-m-v.org admins that there be a character limit on Studio names.

In the above topic, I suggested 50-100 characters max to keep the pages at an 800 pix. wide resolution. Many others would probably also like this since it messes up the pages that have studio name selection in them, like "EDIT MEMBER PROFILE" and the one that Janzki mentioned.

Hmm, what's the widest character? m if my memory from high school info processing serves well. A little experiment (done in word so I'm not sure how accurate it is) shows you can only fit about 30 unbroken ms before you start stretching the page (profile page). I'm assuming that breaks will cause it to wrap right?

M is the widest, most likely... The two studio names listed in Janzki's and my topics are atleast over 100. The longest is definalely WAY over 100, possibly 200.

And yes, if you insert a space or a hyphen, it will go to the next line and not stretch the page. But studio name entries can't do that.

yep... someone put in a REALY long studio name that just rambles on about diferent anime, and it makes the pages about 3 times as wide as my monitor can show. Or at least change the code so the dropdown box doesn't automatically resize to the longest studio name ^^
