I was going to do this as a one year anniversary for myself but forgot, and you see alot of favorite anime threads so i didn't want to try and crowd the board. This is slightly different though, so i guess i can say it's a 13 and a half month anniversary, to joining the message board, thread. I'm just interested to see how much people's tastes have changed or if anything new has really caught people's eyes so like i did a little bit over a year ago what's your favorite show for a certain genre(i know it's hard, but try for only one per category):

Fantasy: Record of Lodoss War (OVAs) for excellent high fantasy.

Grand Drama: Crest of the Stars. Can't beat space opera!

Dark and Scary anime: Vampire Hunter D, Bloodlust, Blood, Witch Hunter Robin, and som more that don't come to mind....

Weirdest stuff I've seen: Puni Puni Poemy.

Romance ~ Hot Gimmick (manga only though ;_; )

Comedy ~ Toss up between Azumanga Daoih and Excel Saga

Maho no Shojo ~ Sailor Moon Season 1 (uncut) and Magic Knight Rayearth Season 2

Over rated ~ Animatrix

Ettchi ~ Maze Movie

Can't decide whether to love or hate ~ Gokudo

Most disappointing ~ Love Hina

Mech: Macross and Mado King Granzort(you definately have to see this! It has the best mecha designs I've seen. Pawns Gundam's back and forth.). RahXephon has good mechs to, but everything else...meh.

Action: Berserk 8) , X(tv)

Drama/Romance: Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien, Angel Sanctuary(can also be considered Fantasy genre)

Underrated: Mado King Granzort, Saber Rider (old but great animes, must have these )

Overrated: Blood, Trigun

Action Well... sticking to "classic" action movies I guess it would be "Stand alone Complex" or "Gunsmith Cats"

Romance Okay, not my genre overall, but I chose "Kare Kano"

Drama No choice: "Jin Roh"

SciFi 3, 2, 1... let´s jam! "plays funky music" It shall be "Cowboy Bebop"

Comedy Wow... depends on what kind of comedy. For hard laughts it was "Exel Saga", while "Ranma1/2" is most likely to be seen over and over again. Don´t forget the FMP-Foumoffus.

Mech Best combination of mechs, battles and the stuff all around it is "Full Metal Panic"

Fantasy "The vision of Escaflowne", with it´s steampunk-elements truly rocks.

Thriller Don´t foget this genre, lads. "Detective Conan" as a series and "Perfect Blue" as movie are memorable.

Horror/Mystery/Underworld I´d say "Hellsing" but unluckyly, I´ve seen "Witch Hunter Robin" and Robin kicks.

A slice of life cool category. But no idea what anime fits here the best. Some elements of every anime would fit here, but I haven´t seen a particular anime that is all abaut "normal life"

Merchandise Commercials "Yu-Gi-Oh!" is somehow better than M:TG itself, while it is only copying the gaming concept into an anime to sell the game itself again. Very weird.
