Inu Yasha is to Ranma 1/2
Okay I just got done watching Inu Yasha just now. And I was wondering if anyone else is thinking the same way. Inu Yasha is turning out to be like Ranma in the romance type of way. You have Inu Yasha which is like Ranma and not only that is Ranma's voice. Kagome which is like Akane in a way. Then Koga is to Ryoga in the way fighting over Kagome's/ Akane's love. Why do I have the feeling that they got this idea from Ranma 1/2. I mean watch it and you'll also see alot other similarities in personality wise.

Well duhhhhh, Ranma ½ and Inu-Yasha were both created by Rumiko Takahashi.genestarwind21122 wrote:Why do I have the feeling that they got this idea from Ranma 1/2. I mean watch it and you'll also see alot other similarities in personality wise.
If it worked once, why not re-use it?

If everyone would pay attention to the credits a the end of the show, then everyone would.blueshogun96 wrote: Not everyone knows that!

There are a few similarities between Inu Yasha and Ranma 1/2, but not all that many. For one thing, Inu Yasha has many, many distinct "bad guys", whereas Ranma 1/2 has only a couple (like Pantyhose Tarou). Ranma 1/2 is also done as a comedy, not a more serious undertone like Inu Yasha.
Ranma 1/2 compares much better to Urusei Yatsura as a whole.

Sorry, I have trouble reading small print on television sets. My TV is only a medium size.someperson wrote:If everyone would pay attention to the credits a the end of the show, then everyone would.blueshogun96 wrote: Not everyone knows that!

Yeah, InuYasha also has more of a story. And characters often face true death, unlike Ranma wherein they make a big deal of it, and then it ends up being something small.
Ranma is more open ended and therefore could continue until all the characters are old geezers and dead. and maybe then some...
But, I must be one of the few people that hasn't gotten tired of Ranma 1/2.
In fact, I have all the TV episodes, all the OAV episodes, movie 3, and the Hot Songs Contest dvd. Plus, all 38 volumes of the manga.
And yet, I still would like to see more.
InuYasha is good, but hasn't quite hooked me the same way that Ranma has.
