You probably haven't seen the entire series. It's funny at the start, but gets really serious near the end. Trigun is my favourite series for sure.trigun-really funny series but i don't recomend it highly, just recomend it.
Other than that, here's the rest I like:
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Outlaw Star
Cowboy Bebop
Escaflowne
Excel Saga
Kodomo no Omocha

i like it but at the end when it gets seriuos it gets that slogging through the mud feeling that basicly just ruined it.

Me, I'm pretty green to the anime scene... IE there is so much to see... and I'm basically picking green.
after seeing Utena; The Movie in theatres, a passion for anime has been struck. Now I haven't seen alot, I've seen bits from here and there including: Escaflwone (only the crappy Fox version+Whole MOvie), Cowboy Bebop (whole+movie), Trigun (whole), Dragon Ball (Some of The Orginal, Z and GT), Video Girl Ai (Whole), Ah! My Goddess (whole+movie), Earth Girl:Arjuna (Some), Gasarki (Some), Gundam (Some of Wing, X... I've seen Char's Counterattack), Vampire Hunter D (Bloodlust in theatres), Bubblegum Crisis (Some), Gunsmith Cats (Some), Fugi Yugi (1 ep, which was hella boring), Z-Mind (the lamest... but funniest 3 eps I have ever seen), Sin:The MOvie (whole), Spriggan (whole), Macross (Some of Plus, Whole of Do You Remember Love? and others...), Metropolis, Akria, Ghost In The Shell, Fist Of The North Star, City Hunter (Some) and GTO (Some) and others I can't really remember. Its only been about 3 years since I've really gotten back into it and I really don't have the funds to buy. So its mostly going to the theatre to watch bi-weekly eps that they show @ the art theatre. So anyways for my current list:
1.Utena-The Movie
2.Cowboy Bebop
3.Ah! My Goddess (movie & Series)
4.Trigun
5.Metropolis
