Asian Kung-fu Generation

Post by dokool » Wed Apr 28, 2004 11:38 am

Anyone know anything about these guys? All I've heard is Haruka Kanata (the 2nd season Naruto opener), but if their other stuff is along these lines then I'm very interested in hearing more.

Simply put, they are the r0X0rZ. Their style is essentially the same as Sugarcult's. There's something to be said about a Japanese band that I'd listen to... they sound exactly like the style of music I'm into.

I think their latest single was "Siren" (from March, maybe?). They've got a new one coming out mid-next-month.

Asian Kung-Fu Generation & Bump of Chicken are really the only J-Rock bands I'll listen to (plus the occasional L'arc en Ciel song; "Stay Away" is the shiznit).

Quick follow-up post...

Apparently "Siren" came out on 4/14, and the next single, "Loop & Loop," is due out on 5/19. "Siren" is an amazing song, but it's a little more mellow than "Haruka Kanata."

Some of their other singles (titles not guaranteed 100% correct):
  • "Mirai no Kakera"
  • "Kimi to iu Hana"
  • "Kunkei Faibumu"
  • "Houkai Amplifier"

Do they just release singles or have they done any albums?

Kunkei Five M seems to be their main full-length. I know they did some indie stuff before this, though.
