New Trailer: E.S.W.A.T. (Appleseed vs S.W.A.T.)

Post by DJ_Izumi » Sun Apr 25, 2004 5:12 am

I've completed a 'quickie' project, E.S.W.A.T. using the 1988 Appleseed OVA (Which sucked beyond all known sucking, just for your information. A terrible, terrible anime.) It's really just another trailer, a teaser even, it features a lot of short cuts and not much else. On the end I tacked on a short little tid bit on my next project, my next project is going to be big, very big indeed, and it won't be completed untill the summer.

heh, pretty neat. I liked the "photo" like effect towards the middle-end. when compared directly against your previous works, you can kinda tell it was a quicky, but still an excellent job. Your teaser at the end does its job in giving just enough info to wet your apetite for whats comming ;p

It was nice. Using that robot for the voice was a bit weird, but I got the point after a few seconds :P

Meh, almost half of the video is a trailer to your next video >_< Don't take my expections too high ;)

The problem is that stupid robot's lips NEVER MOVE when he talks, yet for some reason, they do move when he's EATING. O_o Oddly enough, the other robocop did have moving lips, but there were no scenes good for that speaking role. I only had 60mins of anime to work with even.

The Evangelion Effect is going to be big, I'm going to pick up a pair of monitors and set up dual displays just so I can split the work up, Premiere in one screen and After Effects and Audition in the other. Not to mention the costs in aquiring Evangelion Renewal. @_@

The Evangelion Effect is Evangelion: Renewal vs The Butterfly Effect ( http://www.apple.com/trailers/newline/t ... ly_effect/ ) I know I can pull this off because Eva has sufficent scenes, I've also seen the series about 20 times (And I'm actually quite sick of it. x.x) so I know that Eva has sufficent scenes in for the trailer.

Another cool trailer.
Expectations are high, but if your new one matches the level of stuff you've been making recently it should be awesome.

I'm wondering when you are going to start putting them in front of actual videos.

Actually, has anybody ever done that? (er... on the .org that is)

You mean... Uhh. An anime trailer infront of an anime music video? O_o

The Evangelion Effect will at the least be on par with Noir Raider (Which is honestly my favorite) I'll be implimenting fair bit of effects from After Effects this time, which will be a first for me. I won't be adding effects just for the sake of having them, it'll be appropriate stuff to match the Butterfly Effect trailer, I'll also be doing a fair bit of masking to get the characters on the backgrounds I want them on.

Sure why not? You'd need to put in front of something that was highly story oriented, and used multiple music source. The only thing that I can think of at the moment that serves as an example would be Road to Iron Chef, or even Gothic Storytelling. I'm sure there are plenty of examples of other more 'cinematic' peices around.

If you think about it, it would take the 'trailer' concept as a parody to the ultimate level by having it occur in the correct setting.

So, to like... Tack on one of my trailers at the front of something like... AniMix? O.o I dunno, I'm pretty sure that'd be more like butting in on another project. -.-

I could see sticking a trailer or two infront of a project as a uhm..side project by voluteers or a group who are in the project to begin with, as sort of something extra to do.

For instance say if some Participants of one of the DDR projects (as in one that hasn't been made yet) get the idea to put some trailers at the beginning of the project like you have with previews in the theaters, and the project supervisor agrees with it, then hey that would be a first I think.
