Problem with the Oppinion Form

This is something that has bothered me for a while but has recently been a major annoyance. When writing opinions you can't use bold or italics of underline or even diferent sizes. Basically the only way to make one piece of text look diferent from another is to use caps which I don't like cause it can be misinterperted (as yelling) and it looks bad.

The recent major annoyance was that I wrote a long review for someone's beta and when they put it up I modified it accordingly and put it as an oppinion but I had to remove all the formating and use caps to diferentiante new stuff from old stuff.

Is there any chance of getting at least one way of distiguishing text (preferably bold) or is there some reason that there isn't? I don't know about HTML so if this is a stupid question just give me a short explanation so I have something to blame it on.

Perhaps the same set of limited html tage that are used in vid descriptions? That way the same parsing code could be used.

I guess that's a "no."

I really would like a reason though; even if it's just that it's too much work. I think it would be really helpful to emphasize certain critical points, especially in long nitpicky reviews where some things are a lot more important than others. There's no reason not to that I can see, as improving communication between creator and audience is certainly a worthy goal.

Line breaks help but mostly for organization or in places where you have a large block of text, some ways of setting up a review already use line breaks to make it readable if there's a lot of numbers or times.

Old school underlining only works if it's only a few words.

Lists are good for summary but don't really emphasize anything and can't be used in sections that already have their own format, such as a timing breakdown section which is already like a list (although using tabs might help...)
