well it's the middle ground of BOTH of ur arguments

what Toxic Shade was saying is the stereotype and mainstream rap, saying rap is random and obscene is exactly like saying that rock is only screaming about love

but it's not always as beautiful as bum puts it

just like there can be a rock song about anything, the same is true for rap, the difference is only in the presentation

'It's Tricky...' DOES qualify as Rap, it just so happens to be good rap (imho)

Fair enough, Fair enough. My bad.

I didn't mean to generalize every rapping lyric into this category, but really I just meant to state that most of the songs that I hear on the radio repeatedly hype mindless sex and drugs, freaky fatalities, and have bleeped out Fuck you!'s in between each chorus.

The majority is a bit like this, and it's not really my type of music.

However, although I don't really like Eminem's, Outkast's, or anyone other rappers' music, I do recognize that a few of them are extremely talented, especially Eminem. I just wish he would sing more stuff like 'Cause I live at home in a trailer!'.

Fair enough, Fair enough :D

what you're saying is true though, a majority of the main stream rap music is very different than the majority of rock music

the thing about rap though, a lot of times, due to it's roots in hard times through life, people like to lose themselves in music, so the best way to do it is to dance, so a lot of (majority of) rap songs are developed around having a good time, in other words, dancing to a good beat, so to put lyrics, they usually end up being about what you do at parties... drink/sex

losing urself in a song with a great beat is the same as losing yourself in a sports game, it's what you do to 'get away from it all' so rap is centered around 'having a good time' while 'remembering where you came from'

like bum so elegantly put

it's true nature is beautiful, but sometimes little shit-tards go out and make party songs just to make the money, they aren't out trying to get any kind of powerful message across like a lot of other rap artists are

just keep looking and u'll find good rap just like u can find good rock and even good country... maybe that's harder to sell to people, but it also has it's own background

Pyle you are goddamn hysterical.
  • - First you say you will create a new account to avoid being labelled an idiotic loser.

    - Then I tell you that if you make a new account I'd ban it.

    - Then you post with this new account.

    - Then, when someone replies, you accidentally post with the OLD account???
Fuck it, I'm not going to ban your new account yet - it's just too funny.

That was a complete accident. Why the fuck it posted under this name I am very, very uncertain. I panicked pretty quick though, and tried to delete it, but the damage had been done.

Glad to see I'm on good terms with the administrator ========>sarcasm

Is there something fucked up with my computer's cookie creator or what?

Well anyways, there's a link to a rap vid in my sig, and I suggest that everyone check it out. And yes, it's Eva. Still worth taking a look at in my opinion, and everything that I've gotten back on it has been good. Also, everyone has also said that the vid is pretty messed up.
