well i'll tell you right now, for ever Evanescence - 'Bring Me To Life' video that i see, the originality will not go any higher than 8... doesn't sound very threatening, but considering if the video is done EXTREMELY professionally, even if all the other scores are 10... they'll still be haunted by that 8-8-8

WHYYYYYYYYYYYY!i!i!i!i!i!i!i!i!i!i!i!i!i!i!i!i!

Yeah but some people might not have known that it was overused at the time they made their video to that song *cough*me*cough* It's the most downloaded out of all my videos BY FAR. But maybe it's because it's a hajime saitou tribute and not the song itself.
But even so, I think when I made it, there weren't that many catalogued yet. So if that's the case, then I made mine before it was overused, but my opinion leavers always tell me it's overused. I can't help it anymore. Yet another reason why I'm remaking it.

I have to say I'm troubled by this issue. I'm one of those "one more NGE or DBZ amv and I'll scream"-persons. When I first heard "Bring me to Life" on a car radio, one good idea jumped into my head instantly. That was.. hmm.. about the time the song was released. Since then I haven't started that project because I lacked DVDs.. or any raw-source at all so to speak. And today this song IS kinda overused :\ With this in mind this project has grown up into an AMV trilogy, though I'm still wary about making it. *goes to check something* Hmm.. only one of them uses same anime than what I had in mind (a-m-v.org supersearch). Also that one has different consept than what my AMV would be.
I haven't watched any "Bring me to Life" AMVs because I planned on making one too and don't want them to influence my work ^^' So to me those amvs are "new"..
Other question is that can music be overused the same way than anime? Problems with all those NGE AMVs is that they end up using the same scenes over and over again, which make me dislike the new amvs I see. But combining new anime to same music can create something new. New scenes.. new theme.. On the other hand this way of thinking can be used the other way around. Maybe I'm thinking too much once again.. Which means that best solution to deal with it is ignore this stuff and inform that I hate you people for making/discussing this thread 8)

You guys speak as if you are making your videos specifically for the org database.
So what if there is 250+ of them here. So what if there were 1000. Go to a con, your local anime meeting or even on any anime forum on the net and ask those people how may Evanesence anime music videos they have watched.
This is of course assuming you make videos for other people and not because they are something you see inside yourself that you want to craft into something tangible. I guess that would make amvs art, which apparently they aren't.
