Goddammit, Beo's comp is broken so he keeps logging in as himself on my computer.
That was me posting the above message.

First AMV I ever saw would be "Surfin' Bird" way back in 1988 or 1989, set to footage of the Dorii Bird from the Captain Harlock shows.

Worst is difficult to pin down, given the scope of things I have seen. While they aren't truly the worst, I do have a couple that stick out in my mind: Van Halen's "Dreams" using a piss-poor nth-generation VHS copy of Detonator Orgun, "Insane in the Membrane" set to Invader ZIM (a good concept; the crowd exploded at the title card, but the actual execution was pretty lacking, and it played out to almost total silence), and any number of crappy LinkinBall Z videos--that particular combo has such a vortex of shit surrounding it that the poor efforts tend to blend together into one hideous whole.

Oh, OK...

My first AMV was Twisted Sister's "The Kids Are Back" set to the biker fights from the beginning of Akira, done back in late 1989 with VHS source, edited on VHS.

Not as old as some..

First AMV I seen.. lets see.. I downloaded it off Kazaa, and I hate to say that it was a Linkn Park DBZ Vid, and then I kinda went crazy and though that they where the only ones out their.. so I ened up with close to 5 GB of LP DBZ Vids *Hangs head in shame* the only good thing out of this.. I am now a huge fan of LP ;)

x2

Except I only had 1.5 gigs, and I did get a few other anime once I learned how to search for them. ^_^; I had a 6gig harddrive at the time, so it filled up rather quickly. Aside from random dbz vids, the first YYH vid I saw was Xenia's 'Cry Little Sister' - still one of my faves that I hope to get remastered eventually (with her permission, of course). Other 'firsts' and still favorites are Loveable Neko Kyou's amvs. It's nice to still be able to appreciate the amvs that introduced me to some of my favorite anime. ^_^

I saw the remake of this at ACen'03 last year and it whooped ass. Even had it as a finalist for the theme category :).

The first amv I saw was the Andriod 17 vs Piccolo by Otakuvengence (yea I'm not that old school).

The worst i've seen, was actually a few years ago at a local amv compititon (Chobits: Bring Me To Life) no story and no timeing and subtitles all over the place.
