A question as to what is "excessively violent."
If anyone's seen the Battle Angel Alita/Gunnm anime, in Alita's (or Gally, if you prefer) first fight scene, she punche's a dude's head off, and his severed head it lying on the ground with blood all over the place.
Is that too over the top?
Gee, when I write it like that, it does sound really bad, but I swear it's not too gory in the actual video. Or maybe I'm just ridiculously desensitized from reading the entire manga, where brains get mangled on a regular basis.

Kenshin OVAs vids aren't too gory, or else there are over 300 videos violating this rule.
I think the criteria was if it showed innards then it's too gory. so i guess if you see his brains or blood vessels, it might be too gory.

The way I always understood the rule is that if looks like something from a slasher flick then it's to gory but if it looks like something from a Schwarzenegger action flick then it's fine. IIRC the sceen you're talking about is much closer to Schwarzenegger than Jason although it's been awhile since I've watched Battle Angel. I do recall that the manga for that was much darker than the anime though.

i wanted to do a video to the anime part of kill bill (to either dont drag me down by social distortion or joey ramones cover of what a wonderful world). but im confused on wether or not to submit it because of the gore rule. i've seen an AMV to dead bodies by rancid, and it was gory as all hell. dont know what the show was... some guy in a big red room having to chop off his own arm... killing all these bad guys... it was just as gory as the kill bill thing i wanna do.

Yea, but you can have AMV's as violent as you want - IF they're NOT hosted on the Donut. This is only a donut rule. You're welcome to provide your own hosting for videos as gory as you like.
Kill bill... hmm, no, I think that would be too violent. You'd have to check with the 'authority' to make sure, but knowing how far it goes - I'd say a good lot of it is not appropriate for local hosting.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…
