How do you do those cool effects?

Post by ALT » Fri Apr 09, 2004 11:03 pm

I have seen a lot of videos and I am just starting on my own AMVs, I was wondering how some people create the effects where you see a character from another anime series that is cut and splices into another, interacting with a different seiries just cut from thier original video, like in the "Stop the Rock" video by NAPPY and his video "The chibi things that kill". Can anyone tell me the process of doing this trick? Thanks.:P

Yes, exactly. The effects in "Tainted dounuts" is what I wanted to try out, so frame by frame. Do you mean take each frame to a program like photoshop cut the character or item out and just paste the still image frame by frame back in to premiere? Did I get that right? :?

Actually, I think Vlad pulls it off better in Transcending Love.

You can do it in after effects or photoshop. I would prefer after effects since you don't need to switch between photoshop and premiere to insert frame after frame and can just do it all in AE. Either way it's extremely tedious. :?

The more you get the hang of doing it, the faster you get at it. I did around 40 masks in a day before.

You can also export a video stream from Premiere into a .flm file, open that in Photoshop, and edit each frame seperately.
