And there's nothing wrong with writing... Sarah and I are both writers (as far as I'm aware). And if you're a writer, you shouldn't be so obsessed with putting so many effects in your videos. Just make a video with a damn good story (preferably a story that doesn't occur in the anime) and you'll be fine. Yes, effects can complement a video... but look at my videos. They aren't effects-ridden but all three of them have gotten enough acknowledgement for me to be semi-known around here as an editor.

What bugs me about you is that you seem to think that the only things that can get you recognized and appreciated are effects. :? It is possible to make a good video that is still simple.
I'm not saying the only thing that people like is SE, just a bit of a generalization. Look at the Viewer's Choice and you'll see what I mean :P.

In all of my AMV's, I work hard on the story (except my dance one) because it's basically the only thing I could do. Now that I've gotten an editor with the overlay feature, I'm certain I could make something with a good story and reasonable use of SE. Yeah, I could.

Thank's Ryan. Seriously, my self-esteem skyrockets when I read posts like that. Then a drops pretty fast.

The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

On a side note, could you please stop intentionally misspelling "the?"

Drives me absolutely nuts.
