The 'Edit' Button

People have been complaining about the lack of an edit button since the beginning of the forum. For evidence, I point you to this post in Thread #2 on this forum (#1 doesn't exist, or it's in the moderators-only section).

Except for mods and admins, no one's ever had an edit button. It's been close to two years since the forums were introduced in their current form, and there's still no edit button, so I think it's pretty safe to assume we're never going to get one. Use the "Preview" button instead of "Submit" to check for errors.

why is there no edit button eh? I mean wtf, how the hell would it badly affect a forum?

Post editing is not enabled for normal users. Everyone who has an edit button here either edited it into a screencap or are in a different usergroup.

I don't know how you couldn't figure that out immediately, but whatever.

So, yeah. There you go. Now stop spamming this thread with huge images.

1. I didn't know there were other usergroups other then the mods and admins.

2. Normal users on thousands of other forums usually do get a edit button...and I'm used to that.

3. Stop spamming this thread? Dude wtf? I created this thread, get over yourself. That and I wanted to show Zarxrax that I didn't have an edit button.

Who cares who started what thread, it'll end up like every other topic on the ORG and be left the the zombies to eat them... Or given a quick death and locked/deleted.

I've never used an edit button, but a few times I wish there was one, but it's all Phades forum, his world, he commands it. Phade is GOD on a-m-v.org. You worship Phade as the supreme ruler here. And don't go complaining to him personally about it either. He does what he sees fit (such as removing OT, which I think improved the forum).

Well, the reason I thought it was obvious is because phpBB lists permissions at the bottom of the page:

I realize that not everyone can or has the motivation to scroll a page, though, so I should apologize for excessive expectation.

You are also right -- this is your thread; therefore, you should be able to spam it as you choose.

Anyways this topic has been made about 50 times in the past and there is still no edit button. Please search the forums before making suggestion posts, there are a lot of suggestions that people seem to be repeating.

Trythil don't take me for stupid, I didn't see it alright...its in one of those non-significant places were you can placethings like copyright notices, or such as you cannot or you can do such things in this forum.

Also, I am not whining do you see any whining in there? No I believe you don't, I'm just stating several facts of which are in my reality wether or not you see it that way...well is not my problem. This thread will not be locked or closed unless one of the mods. such as phade or the other people believe that it needs to which I don't see one.

Although I thank Phade for the forums on which I can talk to people and the site which I can upload my videos on so people can tell me I suck or I am good...I do not worship him I however concede he is supreme ruler of everything animemusicvideos.org.

I also don't care what you think or what you have to say, I want to know why phade doesn't like the edit button because obviously it would do a world of good for this forum and although he probably wouldn't mind if you spoke for him I want to here it from his typing fingers, not yours.

Also Corran, sorry I don't go into old topics that have 3-6 pages of text that I will have to read to get the reason of why there is no edit button. Don't like it? Well not my problem, also you don't need to read this thread.

So please if you want to continue to argue with me, don't post here so that there will not be a greater chance that this topic will be locked or closed without getting an answer but instead PM me and I will gladly pick up our debate from there.
