well, technically speaking, all mecha have many similar points. hence, they are all separated in their own little genre. so fighting over whether rahxephon and eva are similar is moot, because they are. stories aside, its still always about large robot/cyborg things fighting with aliens/soldiers/robots/etc. personally, i love mecha, possibly my favorite genre in anime, so dont get your panties in a wad.

I wrote once a long time ago wrote:Ayato-same as Shinji, always afraid and doubtful bout his actions
The leading scientists remind me so much about Shinji's father and his deputy. All that conspiracy crap etc.
The people who work in the project are very alike to the ones that work in Eva. Both in appearance and way of thinking.
And what about that girl that is all sillent and misterious (dunno the name, don't wanna check)? That is sooooo Rei. The project leader even gets involved with her (same as Mr.Ikari with Rei).
The whole story is very similar to Eva-s. Some misterious Mu beings appear from nowhere and have the machines called Xephon's that remind me about Angels in Eva. Both look sucky. Even the ending is alike to it! Please, Ayato vs. "The only girl he was friends with" is the same as Shinji vs. Rei in Eva. So sucky!
Only thing good is Rah himself, which has to be the coolest mecha after Maddo King Granzort in my opinion. So he's not REALLY a mech, big deal. The design look like mecha.

I still think that you didnt fully watch the series. I dont hold your opinion to any kind of regard due to your nature talking about it. If you had put aside how close you ay have thought it was to Eva. I promise you that you would have felt different about the series. Alot of people make the same mistake of just doing nothing thinknig of how closely related it is to Evangelion. Like i said before whoop-de-doo. Try whiping that mindset anf giving the series another chance. If you you still dont like it, then fine.

My bad.Scintilla wrote:I don't remember Iruel (computer virus angel) ever making anything disappear into the ground.SS5_Majin_Bebi wrote:I mean shit, they even had a dolem that made things disappear into the ground. 11th angel from Evangelion, anyone?
Try 12th (Leliel).

Hey, I thought it was very much like Evangelion, but i still liked the series!! Whether or not it was an Eva rip-job, it still was a good series. Had humour, romance, heartbreak, and tragedy. But at the end, it was like Evangelion gone right. I watched that series very closely and intently.SnhKnives wrote:I still think that you didnt fully watch the series. If something is, it is. No amount of arguing or whinging is going to change that.

ok majin_baby, and to any other dedicated hardcore eva fanboys, rahsephon wasnt very much like eva. sure, a bunch of scens we're straight ripp offs (how much times have i said that allready ?) , but rahxephon isnt very similar to eva as ya've said. it was more or less influenced (heavily, mabey) by evangelion, and mabey a bit by lain. but the story itself is enough to stand on its own, and its a decent story. rahxephon didnt consern as much with the "miltary conspiracy" as evangelion did. this was first and foremost a drama, and everything els ware just pieces used to hold the main story togeather.
