jesus, some people deserve to be banned, or modded, or whatever the term is. but that doesn't mean they should be. only taboo stuff should be moded. examples are giant penises, pornography, and graphic pictures being posted. and those three things do not happen often(enough). mods are useless. they would destroy the fun that is the off topic forums. and ad, why the fuck should you care about mods being initiated as you've already stated that you do not trek the depths of the off topic forums anyway? mods are 'needed' in no other area then the off topic. and what they would be getting rid of, is OFF TOPIC POSTS! which i have come to believe is the purpose of that forum. to lead the people who are interested in amvs, but not obsessed enough to chat about design and audio quality every fucking day in all the other forums. off topic forums are designed to keep us freaks away from the general public that reside in the general anime forum. or the music forum.

moding the off topic forum will only cause some pissed off spammer to hack the site. which is not an uncommon combination, spammer and hacker. im sure there are some of you serious amv goers that are proficient with the hacking skills, but would you really want to waste your time dealing with a bunch of misfits who jack off inside jar jar binks costumes? this is not a threat. ive just seen this happen many times. its really sad. once humble forums being deleted and replaced with scat porn pages or an uncountable amount of goats pictures

mods will turn this haven into a fascist playground! VOTE NO MODS '02!!

Spammers are turning the off-topic forums into spamming hell. My point is that we needs mods who are from the general forum population, and who have a presence, by posting with the general population. That creates a more cautious posting attitude. It also eliminates potential abuses by mods, when everyone knows who's a mod and who isn't, and can complain to Phade. It's the difference between your friendly neighborhood beat cops and the <a href="http://www.sovietski.com/Star/stasi.html">Stasi</a> secret police.

but...you've just proven what ive been saying. it's the god damn off topic forum. why should the general forum goers give a shit about what goes on there? they dont. and if you, kthulhu, whom i once thought of as a god sent from allah to smite all the nonstatuesofsalamanders, do not like what goes on in your former dwelling, then just fucking dont go there anymore and stop fucking whining in a forum where you know you cant be attacked by us off topic goers.

the off topic forum is just that, off topic. who gives a fuck if people spam. it honestly isnt that bad. and it sort of goes against your anarchic ways to start monitoring our forum going fun for the minority's benefit. fascist asshole

The off topics forum is totally getting out of hand and if nothing is done, ppl are going to get seriously hurt by each other's post. The forum has become a haven for swear words, angry messages, and bad experiences.

What's more, the messages are spreading through out the whole forum, like above. There must be a sense of decency about this site's forum or some member's will stop coming here and stop contributing their thoughts.
If this isn't stopped, new member's will be discouraged from sharing their ideas as well and that's a bad thing. Fresh blood to the org should always be appreciated. This helps it grow and stay alive.

I hang in the off-topic forums more than any other section of this forum, which is why I, as a forum goer, have a vested interest in them. The spammers are ruining things, and if it keeps up this way, there WON'T be an off-topic forum, or possibly any forum at all. It'll either devolve into an anarchic spammer's wasteland, permanently, or just be gone.

This is why we need more mods, at least for the off-topic sections, from the general forum populace, and we have to know who they are so that we can say "jbone/temjin/Misty Caldwell/whoever is being an asshole" to Phade, if necessary. If you're going to have some overseers, they may as well be those you know and trust. Having "Chef" post multiple threads with song lyrics just to be an annoying pain is not good(although they're gone).

In finality, I would suppose my point is that we need more off-topic mods to police the off-topic forums, so that Phade doesn't have to, or god forbid, stops completely.
