I got goosebumps and my heart ached. Is that a good thing?

I liked it, but I didn't entirely get the ending. I'm guessing it would make more sense if I had seen Fruits Basket.

As long as it wasn't aching from the horribleness of the amv, then yes I'd say it's a good thing. :P

I agree that the story is a little confusing for someone who hasn't seen Fruits Basket. If you want to read a summary, then highlight the paragraph below:
Hatori is one of the twelve cursed members of the Sohma family. He turns into an animal of the Chinese zodiac if embraced by somebody of the opposite gender. Hatori also has the ability to erase memories - memories of people who unwittingly find out about the family secret. He has had to use this ability many times in the past, and has grown into a cool, unemotional man.

One day, Hatori meets his new work assistant, Kana. He is immediately touched by her warm and carefree attitude. Through time, the two of them fall in love. Kana finds about about Hatori's curse one night, but she does not mind, saying still that she is happy to be in love with him. When Hatori hears this, he feels happiness unlike any he had felt before.

The two of them decide to ask Akito, the head of the household, for permission to marry. However, Akito goes into a fit of rage at the idea and severely hurts Hatori in the eye. He then screams at Kana that it’s her fault, that there’s no way for her to help those with the family curse.

Days pass, and Kana cannot stop crying no matter how Hatori comforts her. She grows sick from her sadness. Hatori is left with no choice but to erase her memories of their love. When her time as Hatori’s assistant is over, Kana leaves. Hatori cries. But he does not blame Akito, for such is the Sohma family curse.
I must say that my video is nothing compared to the actual episode, so try to watch the anime if possible.
