Time? I'm sure you've heard of load distribution through off-peak batch scheduling.
I don't have an automated media hopper yet so I can't do this unattended, but I do have two DVD-RW drives from the eBay and one CD-RW. By having people send in their media in the actual envelope with their order ticket, logistics is greatly simplified.
I'm sure there is a tool that will save the request ordertickets, then when I get the actual media I can import the relevent order tickets into the queue. Doing work by the computers I think I can change two discs every 20 minutes.
If only there was a Microsoft .NET extension for stupid NeroAPI, or saving the job reference tags to an XML file which I can generate. More work >.< and I don't want to write even more custom software.
And btw, DVD-Rs are around 37pc (CND 77cts I think) if you get them in Bulk. Make it a policy that people should send two Discs, then you send both discs back - including one blank discs. Postage is the same, and if one discs iis going to screw up in a authoring-grade Yamaha then the next one won't. Even if it's "Kingston K-hypermedia" or "Imation" crap.
Taking cash is going to be a slight complicated, especially since it's money.
How about, I try to get the VCA videos, then issue a Disc for this year's VCAs? It makes the VCA look more official and simplifies logistics. If there's anything you're doing, it should be this. Or themed collections by music genre, anime genre, anime or style. Or author.

I just wanted let everyone know the Distro is back from the holidays and with an update too. We have five new AMV CDs in the catalog and have also made some minor changes to the request and submission methods.
A new section called Distro News has also been added. Distro News will host information on request status (so you can check whether you CDs have arrived and if they have shipped back out), announcements, and will be the new home of the Distro's request stats and our offline catalog made in PDF for printing and browsing away from the web. Request stats and the PDF catalog will be updated monthly and will be available as a download from Distro News.
Thanks for the continued support and I'm looking forward to a great new year of AMVs.

Go to http://www.animemusicvideos.org/ and sign up. You'll be able to download an Direct or Indirect videos on the spot. You'll be able to download Local videos in two weeks or when you donate $1 to the Org, which ever comes first.harry wrote:i am totally new to computers, all i wana do is download n watch some cool anime music vids, (hopefully later on down the track i can learn to make them!)where do i go to watch n download somm good, fast techno n heavy metal?????
