Particle man to DBZ, like a REAL long time ago (maybe 1999 or 2000). I stumbled upon it by accident.

I can't remember the first one I ever saw, but the first one I ever downloaded was Nightowl's "Love is Flowers".

<b>Maboroshi</b>'s <i>Sleep Now</i> on Serial Experiments Lain.

It was quite frustrating, the download had stopped in the middle of the file, so I could only watch the first half (thanks to MPEG-1). Even so, I found the concept of AMV so cool (and that particular AMV so good -- still one of my favorites) that I watched that half-AMV quite a lot of times.

WilLoW then managed to get a full version of the video and gave me the file on CD so I could watch it to the end!

And we started looking for other Maboroshi vids, then Aluminum ones, and the AMV madness had started.

Blue Mercury. Must have been.. ah.. spring of '01? Yeah. I saw it and I was like "shit, I need a good comp so I can do that :|" and it was history from there.

..except that I never did make any real amvs.

I would like to point out that the correct phrase is "the rest was history", and that the video was by Aluminum Studios. But also that if you needed the latter correction, you're about as retarded as I am for needing the former :|

I can't say for certain, but I'm quite sure that my first AMV was either a Noir tribute, The Knights of Fire or She Is My Sin. Based on these you can probably guess which series got me into anime in the first place.
