Hm hm hmmmmm....
Am I the only hardcore dork here?
That is to say, anyone else like hardcore? Like With Honor, Shai Hulud, Melt-Banana, SOB, Bane, I Hate You, the Gorilla Biscuits, Sick of it All, Give Up the Ghost, SSD and so on and so forth?
Those are just some of my favorites, though. I have found a few AMV's using this site's search that are of those bands...and also a few other bands that I enjoy.
*shrugs* So don't be shy, and those who don't like the hardcore, feel free to make fun of my musical taste.

It was inevitable: the scent of bitter almonds always reminded him of the fate of unrequited love.

How does one go about defining hardcore?
Most musically intelligent people here I consider hardcore in their own ways.
el farlo: Metal hardcore
ithaqua: industrial hardcore
otohiko: King Crimson hardcore (I don't think anyone is more hardcore in this aspect)
So it depends.
Oh, and I'll give just about anything a listen, if I'm not feeling lazy.
Just point me in the right direction and something might happen. maybe.

Yea, I ran into this issue in another thread recently.
Me and Vlad use 'hardcore' as an adjective to describe the specificity of our tastes.
Farlo and the other hardcore folks use 'hardcore' as a noun to describe a specific style.
Frankly, it puzzled me just as much as 'alternative'; but now that I realized that using both those words as either nouns or adjectives does make a difference...

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

At the Blood Bank Forums (Dethmajor's forum), if you don't like Metal, atleast try and relate in some way.el_farlo wrote:most people here dont like hardcore

Fun place that is, lots of new bands I've never heard of before, like Skitzo and Sick of it All (thank you Farlo and Dethmajor).
Me = metal head, almost my entire playlist is some form of metal, except Reveille and all the anime OSTs I have... Me and my anime OST's...
But, like Farlo said, if you like any form of metal, go to that link up there, it's well worth it.

Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.
