Yeah I do something similar. I keep a HUFYUV file and the project files around until after con season (never know if a con wants some obscure encode or timing requirement) and then burn off the project file (not the VOBs) and MPEG-2's.trythil wrote:Anyway, I do pretty much what Zarxrax does. I'll keep the uncompressed master file around for a while, but I'll eventually replace that with a high quality MPEG-2.

dvd burners are still shit expencive here (around $280 for 8x dvd+r drives). though for people using them and burning huffyuv files, it would make sence to just burn the project file instead, but if ya insist on burning huffy, just use dvd9 disks, which hold about 8.9 gigs. though they are prety expencive compared to dvd5, or mabey thats just here. then again, ive heard that dvd10 is much more commopn and popular in the usa, so that would make dvd9 even more expencive. ah, if only we could have dvd19
(double sided, dual layered, would hold almost as much as blue-ray,)

Burn as a SVCD, make 2 copies, and give one to the person that made it. Chuck the other one into a huge ass pile in a drawer and delete the source material myself...
Then if anybody wants to see them, they can just throw one in the player.
The only other option is to compress it for the .org

I still haven't mastered encoding vid into something other than xvid
..so I usually keep a huffy version of the finished vid along with the project file and any misc. stuff I used in the vid and burn them to dvd-r. Though I just started doing this with Abracadabra and the vids following it. I really wish I'd have saved the ppj and huffy files for Trigun Tuff and Can't Get You..
